Who will my photographer or videographer be?
Depending on your location (Austin, NYC, San Antonio, or destination), you will be matched with a lead photographer or videographer who has worked with Double Knot for years on dozens of weddings. We only take on a very limited number of weddings per year, and all of our shooters are trained extensively in our candid, authentic, natural style.
Double Knot does not work with any photographer or videographer who we haven't worked with many times before, and we will be happy to share galleries and set up meetings beforehand. You will always know who you are getting before you book!
Finally, all your media will be edited by the owner, Adam, who also handles all the logistics and management to make sure everyone is on the same page and the events run smoothly.
Where are you located?
Our hand-picked team lives in Central Texas and NYC, with some members travelling consistently between both areas. We've also captured weddings in 12 states and 6 countries, so don't hesitate to reach out with your destination wedding!
What happens in case of emergency?
After eight years and over 200 weddings, we have never missed, been late, or short-staffed a wedding. Our team is flexible and, given we have connections across the industry and the film schools at which we were trained, the bench is deep if one of our shooters is ill or otherwise unable to make your day.
How do you ensure no media is lost?
Rest easy -- we backup our media to three different physical locations and a cloud service. Paranoid? Maybe a little.
What equipment will you bring?
We spend thousands of dollars every year updating our cameras, lenses, and support equipment. Technology is moving fast and getting better every day, and we want to take full advantage of it. Your wedding is worth it.
For photography, we’ll bring all the necessary stands, strobes, and modifiers to light any space. For video, our cameras can see in the dark better than the human eye. No need to ruin your perfect dance floor with harsh lighting.
Leave the crackly audio to the iPhones; we’ll bring a variety of on-camera and lavalier microphones, cabling, and recorders to ensure that your vows and toasts are clear and full.
Do you charge for travel?
For weddings within 50 miles of New York City, Austin, and San Antonio, there is no travel fee. For weddings over 50 miles, a travel fee may include nominal costs for gas, tolls, mileage, lodging, etc. For destination weddings that require airfare and lodging, we will charge a flat fee for our accomodations. Simple, easy -- just how it should be.
