We get it: the idea of getting thousands of photos taken on your wedding day can sound a little daunting. Especially when you generally don’t spend much time in front of the camera.

It’s not all that scary, though, promise. ✨ It’s really all about leaning into what makes you feel like you.

We believe that different poses work for different couples and personalities, so we’re not sharing a laundry list of go-tos. Instead, we’re sharing a few tips and tricks to help you look and feel your best in front of the camera.

  1. Communicate with Your Photographer: Share any concerns or preferences with your photographer beforehand. This will help them understand your needs and adjust their approach.
  2. Know Your Best Side: Everyone has a more flattering side. Knowing yours will help your photographer position you for the best angles. If you’re unsure, your photographer will guide you.
  3. Maintain Good Posture: Stand tall with your shoulders back. Good posture not only looks great in photos but also boosts your confidence.
  4. Mind Your Chin: Keep your chin parallel to the ground to elongate your neck and avoid a double chin.
  5. Relax Your Face: If you start feeling tense, take a moment to close your eyes, breathe deeply, and relax your facial muscles before the next shot.
  6. Turn at a 45-Degree Angle: Instead of facing the camera straight on, angle your body slightly. This position often creates a more flattering look.
  7. Find Joy in the Moment: Laugh, smile, or even dance. Enjoying the moment will make your photos appear natural and joyful.
